A large 630ml Singha beer will cost you only 50 baht. You can get a small one of 330 ml of the same at any average bar at 60 to 150 baht. 1 litre of bottled water will cost you 7- 12 baht. A low end bottle of wine from supermarket will charge you only 450 baht. You can have 20 Thai brand cigarettes at 20 baht and 20 western brand at 45 baht.
Thus, the westerners will not be having any problem in meeting the cost of food in Thailand. They will find that the money they used to spend in their native countries for square meals is much more than they need to spend in Thailand. Thailand offers food of great variety and at different costs so that people from all social strata can afford Thai food. Now the choice is yours. You can have food at a gala Thai restaurant or even from a street vendor.
