Valentine Day is celebrated in Thailand in a very unique fashion. 14th February, Valentine’s Day is a traditional Thai holiday. On this very day Underwater Wedding Ceremony is organized in the southern zone of Thailand, Trang province. Couples love to get married underwater on 14th February.
Chinese Lunar New Year is celebrated in Bangkok’s Chinatown.
Kite flying festival is an old Thai sport which is usually celebrated in the month of March. Kite flying competition in Thailand is an interesting festival which is known to attract huge number of tourists every year. Thai people participate in Songkran festival from 13th to 15th April which involves a traditional celebration of the end of dry season. Water fights are organized at the major tourist places during this festival. Chiang Mai is the best place to celebrate this party.
In June, you have Phee Ta Khon which is like Halloween where two adult men dress up to scare people. Interestingly a Vegetarian festival is organized in Phuket from late October to early phase of November. This festival continues for nine days and is celebrated throughout Thailand.
